In December of 2005, Martie Bond had a revelation. It was the day after Christmas. She was taking a stroll with her daughter in San Francisco and saw a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel walking his owner across the street. Martie's heart surged. She'd left her two King Charles Spaniels (Hannah and Zack, respectively) at home in Salt Lake City and she missed them more than she could have realized.

After petting the spaniel, she had an irresistable urge to find a pet store. She and her daughter walked up and down the streets of Noe Valley searching for a store that would be open on the day after Christmas. When they found one, Martie rushed in and bought a stuffed octopus, a honking goose and an assortment of holiday cookies. Her heart melted at the thought of Zack and Hannah tearing into their gifts. And in that moment, she had a vision of opening a dog boutique in Salt Lake City. She'd been a high-level recruiter in California's Silicon Valley and desperately wanted a change. She wanted a vocation that would serve her heart. She imagined the boutique and wanted it to be beautiful and to have everthing that her dogs would love. She wanted to share that love with other dog owners. And cats, too. That came later.

Just two months after her vision, Martie signed the lease for what would soon become iPaw, Your Pet's Boutique. Two months after the signing, they were open. In a very short time, iPaw has become Salt Lake City's premiere pet boutique and resource center. Martie would have it no other way. She supports local designers and artists and hosts seasonal fashion shows, training classes and educational speakers. And Hannah and Zack are now an integral part of the store. They try out all the new treats and pet beds and will greet you at the door. Please don't forget to give them a snuggle when you visit.
